Why Do A Challenge?
Challenges
Today is the first day of a thirty day challenge for me and my fellow creatives, so it got me thinking about challenges.
Why do we participate in challenges? Why do we create them? What do we want to get from them? What constitutes a challenge?
Well, this I think will be different for every person. Some people will see walking a mile a day as a challenge, whereas others will view climbing Mount Everest as one. So challenges, just as all things in life, are highly personal things. You may find it a challenge to get out of bed every day, or to speak to the person on the checkout at the supermarket. For some, their challenge may seem like nothing to others. But, it is still a challenge, so it should still be celebrated when the goal is reached.
Some people will participate in a challenge to improve themselves, others to create a good habit. Some will just want to show off, and there is nothing wrong with that. Certain challenges will give you an adrenaline rush. I believe that all challenges should take you out of your comfort zone, otherwise, it isn’t really a challenge. But, you may not agree with that and that is ok too. For some, just being on the edge of their comfort zone is challenging enough.
You may be a person that thrives on competition. So a challenge for you is the most exciting thing…
