Moving House When Your Teen Has Metathesiophobia

Metathesiophobia is the fear of change, it is a persistent, unrealistic, intense anxiety about and fear of new or different situations, circumstances, or objects.
And my teenage daughter has this in spades. This is not new to her teens, she has always suffered from the fear of things changing since being a small child.
I remember once changing her bedroom around while she was at school. The idea was to give her more space to play. She wouldn’t even go in her room until I changed it back! Another time I painted the cat house and she went mad at me for ‘ruining Norah’s house’. Norah was our cat that had passed away.
She would scream blue murder if I had brought her home from a day out and she had fallen asleep in the car. Even though we arrived back at home, and she was in her own room, she would scream uncontrollably because she had fallen asleep somewhere else.
So this fear of change really is nothing new. My child needs a full 40-page document detailing every single change that is about to take place with clauses allowing for her to have tantrums pre-scripted in. She needs to have at least 6 months notice for a…
