Keeping Grounded & Feeling Loved
My pebble sits in my pocket all day long. Why is it there? To remind me to stay grounded. When things get to much to handle, I can take my pebble and hold it. Turning that smooth stone over in my fingers acts in a similar way to breathing into a paper bag I guess. It regulates my breathing and slows down my mind.
What I really like about my pebble is that it is really tactile. That is why I chose it. Not only does it look cool, it is smooth and bumpy. So how long have I had this magic stone? Ummm, about 32 hours I’d say.
Ok, ok, if you followed my stories, you would know that this was a suggestion from my mentor, Paula Mould. Well, yesterday I drove to Brighton and as my children and I walked along the beach, I told them to choose a pebble for grounding and I would do the same. I now have half of Brighton Beach in my house, but that is beside the point.
I found the coolest shell I have ever found on a trip to the beach in my entire life. I have honestly never found such a large shell and I felt like a little kid again. The thing with doing stuff with your kids, is you often feel like one yourself. Probably why I was struggling to adult so much yesterday.
