I have only ever had 1 or 2 stories curated, but they didn’t do that much either. I just haven’t built up enough of a following yet.

It’s true I don’t write for any publications yet either. Truth be told, I’m not sure how I go about that. I’m afraid I got a little disheartened and have not written much lately. Partly due to lack of recognition and mostly due to life throwing me a few curve balls. But, I intend to change that now as things are on a more even keel again.

Any advice you have for a newbie to the platform is appreciated. How do I grow my audience to be as large as yours? That is the advice that always seems to be missing. It’s all very well saying keep posting, keep reading, but how do you turn that into followers and ultimately into revenue? As you said, it doesn’t matter if I write amazing stories, if no one reads them then it is pointless.

So how do I get onto publications? How do I get noticed? How do I actually gain traction?

I wasn’t having a go at you. I just find this whole new system a bit hard to break into. You guys all say pretty much the same thing, just keep posting etc. It doesn’t always work is my point and all of you that proclaim yourselves as doing well on medium have thousands of followers, so of course you will get more money.
